The Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn - What Can We Expect?
The fourth and final installment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, is said to debut on the silver screen sometime in 2011 in the United States. This highly anticipated movie will tie up all the loose ends for those who have followed Edward, Bella, Jacob and the rest of the packs and clans whose stories became tied together in previous films. Breaking Dawn will be directed by a newcomer to the saga. The previous directors have been David Slade, Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke. The one at the top of the list for the fourth is Bill Condon, director of musical film Dreamgirls in 2006.
The other two directors in the running with Condon are Gus Van Sant and Sofia Coppola; no one has yet to officially take the job. The stars of the saga, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, are personally leaning towards director Gus Van Sant. Although each movie has had someone new to direct and envision, the outcome thus far has been seamless. It would be hard to guess that it wasn't the same director across the board.
The cast for Breaking Dawn is, for now, the same as the other films. The only casting mishap that has yet to occur is with the character Victoria who was played by a different actress in the third, Eclipse, from the first two. However, this character won't be needed in this fourth part of the story.
There are some questions as to whether this ending will be split into two parts since much acclaimed fantasy forerunner Harry Potter will do so in the seventh and final film. As of right now, the question is unanswered officially; in fact, it's one of a few remaining major decisions that have yet to be made and is keeping the filming process from moving forward. If it means anything, though, most of the main actors as well as the author of the books herself, Stephenie Meyer, hope to see it split into two separate movies. There is a lot of ground that will need to be covered in the thickest book of the saga. There have even been questions as to whether the movie will come out in 3-D; this is probably to quench the currently popular craze for this added effect to action and adventure films. As far as the actors are concerned, they're not quite as enthusiastic about the possibility and would rather not see this happen.
With Eclipse coming out in theaters so soon after New Moon (seven months later), the public is beginning to wonder how far behind Breaking Dawn will be. The movie has yet to even begin production because the major decisions, like the Director and splitting the film in two, have yet to be solidified.
With the first three films coming out in enough time to keep the fans happily anticipating, the lack of concern for making the executive decisions regarding this fourth film is becoming a little worrisome. Fanboys Review
So, I was poking around in Target tonight and I came across a gem of a movie, Fanboys. Fanboys is a movie about a bunch of nerd friends who decide to make the pilgrimage to the Skywalker ranch to steal Episode 1 of Star Wars in 1998. This movie is a nerdy version of a college road trip movie.
This movie is full of enough Star Wars references to appease any die hard Star Wars fan. There is plenty of other geeky homages ranging from Star Trek to terminator. Not only that but there are a surprising number of big name stars from geek cinema and TV, including one of the stars, Kristen Bell, and some actors from the Star Wars films.
Set to a soundtrack full of 90s music, this movie does an amazing job of helping any child of this decade relive their past. The crew did such a great job of recreating the 90s that any child from that era will feel right at home.
This movie puts a nerd spin on the cliche finding yourself movies. We have all seen movies about a group of friends going on a road trip and learning about themselves and their relationship together. This movie is along those lines, but with a full on dose of nerdity. One of the best things about being a geek is the ability to make fun of yourself and have a ball doing it. Fanboys does a great job of showing a glimpse into the life of a nerdy/geeky fan boy without being mocking or portraying it in a negative light.
As a culture, geeks and nerds have been denigrated for most of the 20th century. Now that we are in the 21st century, things are changing. Geek is the new mainstream. Finally, we are beginning to feel that we can be who we are in public with pride and confidence.
It's the age of the geek.
If you have declared yourself a geek or nerd in the past 10 years you will be laughing so hard you will fall off of your chair/couch/beanbag/other sitting device. This movie had me cracking up within the first 20 seconds and it did not stop till the end.
It's Geektime gives this movie an imperial 10 on the d10 of the force for an amazing story, great references to geek culture, and Kristen Bell in a gold Princess Leia costume.

Melinda was able to help these spirits attain their desired peace by helping them talk to their loved ones or do things which such spirits could not do while they were alive. In doing such, Melinda was able to help such ghosts cross over from darkness to light.
At the beginning of the series, Melinda and Jim were seen moving to the town of Grandview where she opened an Antique shop known as - " The same is it never was ANTIQUE". She met Andrea Marino who later joined her in the management of the Antique shop. Melinda had became very intimate with Andrea and shared are secrets with her later on.
As a result of her special abilities, Melinda often received visions and revelations concerning the particular ghost or spirits she is helping at a particular moment. In the first season finale of the TV series for instance, Melinda was found receiving messages from a ghost on an air plane which hasn't crashed yet, and in another episode, she was unconsciously transferred into a forest from her home town. In the second season, Melinda saw a vision of how people were starring at her just as her house was being covered with a large body of water. She also saw a large bridge in the sky in which cars were falling everywhere around her. These were some of the visions Melinda used in saving many earth-bound spirits in the TV series.
Towards the end of the fourth season, Melinda Gordon's son was discovered to possess much more powers than his mother and such powers were revealed by the Book of Changes and the Watchers. Melinda Gordon had a very hectic and overwhelming role in season five as she tried to balance the role of motherhood and helping ghosts cross over to light especially as she discovered that her son was consistently in danger because of his enormous supernatural powers. The watchers revealed that Aiden- Melinda's son was an Empath and as a result, Melinda was able to receive visions from Aiden.
Romano remained the main obstacle to Melinda Gordon's success as he used his massive death count to strengthen the dark side against the Light.

The hype surrounding the Twilight series is based on the huge success Stephenie Meyer achieved with her first novel. Additional sequels followed the pattern as the audience was hungry for new adventures of their heroes, Bella, Edward and Jacob. As the movies were released, fans were thrilled by an opportunity to see the story in film. With Breaking Dawn announced for 2010, it will be four movies in four years, maximizing the marketing effect.
The producers wanted to take Eclipse in a slightly different direction than the first two movies, so they hired David Slade to direct it, since Chris Weitz turned them down, stating that he was too busy with completing New Moon. Apart from adding more action than in previous movies, Slade was more concerned with telling a good story, than simple being different.
New action scenes have pushed Eclipse into action/ horror-thriller, which will certainly appeal to a much broader audience than Twilight and New Moon. As the terror spreads throughout Seattle, Belle is caught between her lover vampire Edward and her friend werewolf Jacob, who also has feelings for her.
The ancient rivalry between vampires and werewolves is held at bay by a fragile truce, to which both parties agreed only because of Bella. The situation is complicated by Victoria, who is looking to enact her revenge upon Bella for the death of her boyfriend in a previous chapter of the saga. Edward and Jacob will have to work together if they are to stop Victoria's army of newborn vampires and save Bella.
"Bring back Rachel" was the most seen message on Twitter on July 29th 2009. This was the day when Summit Entertainment announced that they are replacing her with Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria in Eclipse. They even made her a tribute video on You tube. Rachel stated that she was overwhelmed by the fans' support. However, even though she did a good job interpreting Victoria in the first two movies, we have to be fair and say that Bryce Dallas Howard managed the role quite well in Eclipse, playing a villain.
The final sequel of the saga, Breaking Dawn, will enter pre-production in 2010, although Summit Entertainment still hasn't approved the final adaptation. Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplays for the first three movies, is also in charge of the fourth.
One other thing they are missing is a director. The success of Twilight Saga: Eclipse will surely influence David Slade's chances of being selected for the job, but the rumors have it that Academy Award winner Bill Condon is also being considered. One thing is for sure, who ever is chosen will have huge shoes to fill.

Lee Dewyze Performance
As the American Idol season comes closer to the finale, it's no surprise that the final few remaining contestants will need some extra tips and tricks to make it to the final round. This past week the theme was Elvis, and to prepare they each took on a mentoring session with Adam Lambert, the runner up of American Idol for last season.
Sure, the contestants all probably used Adam's advice to aid their performances this week. But of the many great performances (and some not as great), Lee Dewyze seemed to stand out, aside from being the opening for Tuesday night's show.
Taking on the song "A Little Less Conversation", he began with a soulful rhythmic guitar strumming that would make you feel awkward for not moving to it in some way. The song moved on as his rock-style vocals, with the compliment of the guitar, gave the song his own taste without extra effort. His singing style seems to be in the likes of Chris Daughtry and David Cook with a certain signature rasp and toughness to it.
With Lee Dewyze's performance, he gained positive response from all 4 judges. Randy saw Lee was 'in the zone", and Ellen thought he made it "sound like a brand new song". Kara DioGuardi pointed out how she'd have liked Lee to "smile a little" and to "play", while Simon didn't seem to agree, stating it was "on the money, full stop".
But all judgment aside, this Lee Dewyze performance ended on a dang good note.

King Kong Vs Godzilla - Action Figures and Dual Endings
King Kong vs Godzilla was made in 1962. Around that time, when people realized there were two version of the movie, the myth of two different endings started: Godzilla won in the Japanese version, while Kong won in the Hollywood edition.
Interestingly enough, that is not the main difference between both versions. The biggest difference is the film itself. As it is usual when releasing a Godzilla movie to the US, additional footage is added or deleted to make it more appealing to the US audience. Many times such action leaves behind the essence of the original movie, and that was the case with this movie too. The film was meant to be a mix science fiction and humor, but Hollywood altered it heavily to try to make it a pure science fiction movie. The final product used 75% to 80% of the original Japanese film.
But regarding the end of the movie, the truth is that both versions share the same visual ending. King Kong swims away and Godzilla returns to the sea. It can be said that the end is ambiguous; Kong does not beat Godzilla nor Godzilla wins over Kong. However, there is a difference in the soundtrack, and that difference is used by some fans to explain the myth. The 1963 King Kong vs Godzilla movie in the US theaters had no Godzilla's roar, while in the Japanese version the Godzilla roar is heard after the Kong roar.
According to some Godzilla fans, because in the US version only Kong is heard, the movie goers thought Kong won. It is also possible that US viewers could not believe a Japanese horror film would show an US monster win over a Japanese monster. Adding to this, the rumors of two different movie versions helped cultivate the dual ending myth.
Despite this explanation, things could be much simpler.
At the time King Kong vs Godzilla was created, King Kong was much more popular than Godzilla; this was quite evident among Japanese children, for example. Besides, Godzilla was evil, as a result of the prior two Godzilla movies. As a result, the right commercial approach was for King Kong to win. The ambiguous end only left a door open for Godzilla to evolve.
What is not understandable, however, is how unfair Japanese were to the Kong character appearance. Its ugly suit could be one of the reasons Godzilla action figures manufacturing companies release so few King Kong toys. For example, Bandai Co. has released only one figure in 1993. Godzilla action figures collectors know King Kong toys are rare and hard to find. However, that is what makes King Kong vs Godzilla action figures so valuable and interesting.

What Not to Wear Vs The Housewife Hoodie
I have to admit that I enjoy watching "What Not to Wear" on occasion. There are some things about this show that I like. I enjoy it when I see other people starting to feel better about themselves. I can even get a little teary-eyed when someone seems profoundly affected by the show and the attention given to them.
However, there are several things that I find disturbing about this show.
Through the years I have developed my own fashion strategy, and it doesn't involve buying shoes in rainbow colors. Nor do I feel the need to carry a different handbag with every outfit.
It is not uncommon for outfits on "What Not to Wear" to be purchased for upwards of $300. In the real world, most us of would not dream of spending so much on our clothing.
I don't believe most women want to spend their time transferring items from purse to purse as they dress each day. Nor do I believe anyone needs more than a few pairs of shoes in basic colors.
If you have lots of money, it is not a problem to buy expensive clothing. However, most of the people who come on the show are not in the position to spend the kind of money they spend in New York on clothing in their home towns after they leave New York.
In fact, most of the people I've seen on the show are much more prone to frequent sales racks and bargain stores. Most of us believe a sale is a good thing, and not something to be avoided because "sale items are pieces no one else wanted."
There are tremendous markdowns on beautiful clothing at the end of every season. Stacy and Clinton - how about teaching us how to take advantage of these sales? How about teaching us how to find quality clothing at stores where we can afford to shop?
I cringe when I see someone showing off a $300 outfit. This is not "investing in clothing". It is missing the opportunity to invest in our financial future.
I worry about people getting addicted to buying expensive clothing. I have my doubts about whether the guests on "What Not to Wear" will ever make such expensive purchases again, but clothing does wear out in time, and shopping can be addictive.
I fear that after getting a taste of expensive clothing, and a major shopping high, it might become easy to justify a $200 a month shopping habit. If it becomes an addiction, a credit card will be used that is not pre-paid, and may not be paid off at the end of the month.
Credit card debt can result in the loss of thousands of dollars. If that money were saved, instead of spent, it becomes a huge financial loss.
It is said that those who understand interest collect it. Those who don't pay it.
Here is an example. If you invest approximately $2,500 a year in the stock market, with a return of 8 percent, in 20 years that money will grow to almost $125,000. Make that over $300,000 for 30 years, and $700,000 over a 40 year period.
Saving money on clothing to achieve that kind of financial security seems a lot more important than parting with your hoodie.
There are not a lot of areas to save money these days. Life has gotten very expensive, and doesn't get easier as you get older. A majority of our expenses are fixed. Food and clothing are the major areas where we can be more careful, save money, and invest in our future.
Again, Stacy and Clinton, why not teach people how to dress well on a budget? Clothing does not have to be expensive to look good. You can still teach the same principles but use them to find clothing that is affordable.
"What Not to Wear" how about giving us a show that we can relate to in the suburbs of America? It takes skill to go into a thrift store and find that one "jewel" that we can work into our wardrobe. How about some tips?
Quit making fun of our jeans, t-shirts and hoodies. Teach us to find the good fitting pair of jeans, or more flattering colors for our skin tones, and let us be happy living on our income.
And when we are at home....dare I say it - WE WANT TO BE COMFORTABLE!

Is 3D the Wave of the Future in TV and Movies?
With the smashing critical and box office ticket sales success of the film Avatar, a long awaited 3D fantasy picture, everyone is talking about three dimensional entertainment. This is not the 3D of yesteryear either, my friends. No, this is much more advanced, much more awe inspiring, and much more expensive to produce as well.
I can remember back in the eighties, going to see 3D movies. Back then, that was quite a treat, but the technology has evolved so far beyond just donning the goofy paper glasses to get the effects. We now have the ability to make pictures specifically for the three dimensional experience, which enhance the previous cheap effects.
It seems that 3D had been long forgotten until now. The interest in the entertainment value has skyrocketed recently, and now there are a few huge film makers who are vying to get their hands on a script that is conducive to this new and sensational avenue.
You see, unlike old 3D where the film was produced in a traditional format, "new" 3D is different because a lot of the effects are also produced digitally on screen, and this only further enhances the viewers experience when they put the special glasses on. Also, there are specific theaters that have the digital technology and screens that make the pictures pop out even more, inciting gasps, oohhs and ahhs from the audience.
These newer digital techniques which use colors, depth perception tricks and other image manipulations to fool the human eye, will become more commonplace as we see the demand for newer types of entertainment from the movie going public. Incredibly, one of the areas of the economy that has not suffered as greatly as the rest of the consumer driven sectors, is entertainment.
Hollywood knows they need to take advantage of customer's desire to see new, groundbreaking, awe inspiring film making, and there are always cutting edge directors and film makers who are more than glad to heed this call. Expect to see more and more theaters equipped for these types of movies as well.
Right now, IMAX pretty much has the corner on the market for high tech picture and sound quality. We'll see if they attract any competitors if this trend proves to be a bit more long lasting than your typical flash in the pan with finicky consumers.
3D is not only forecasted to become the hot new medium in movies, but it also is predicted to be in many people's homes in the next decade. The sale of new, high tech three dimensional equipped televisions has already caused quite a sensation, and as long as those sell, there is sure to be a development for that market in the works.
One thing is for sure, we certainly have come a long way from the generic effects of yesteryear when you could go see movies like Jaws III in this format. It leaves one to wonder, what's next? How could we possibly go any further up on the technology ladder when we've come astoundingly far already? Well, that's the great thing about human ingenuity and curiosity, if you can imagine it, you can pretty much make it happen.

The Difference Between IT Joes and IT Pros
About a year ago I was really into a show called "Pros vs. Joes" on Spike TV.
Average, narcissistic and delusional sports fans get a short at avoiding Hershel Walkers brutal tackles, or dodging a mind numbing, heart stopping blow from UFC fighter Randy Couture.
To me, it was absolutely hilarious to watch some of these people take on the pros. More often than not, they got a 55 gallon drum of your-know-what opened up and used on them.
But once in a great while, one of the Joes would give a pro a real run for their money.
Anyway, as you know, I try to learn from mistakes made by others, and I mean anyone and everyone, past present of future, because as the old saying goes, "You'll never live long enough to make them all yourself."
So here's the Pros vs. Joes lesson for you, the I.T. Pro (and those who think they are) according to Dale:
No matter who you are or how good you think you are at your job, you can always improve. The most successful, most impressive pros practice constantly. Tiger Woods can be found hitting balls the day after winning a championship. Larry Bird, as team captain, would spend hours practicing his shooting style and effectiveness.
The difference between Pro status and Joe status is often only a fraction...of second, inch, ounce, dollar. "Soft Like Me" Starring Marc Ducusin
"Soft Like Me" is a strange if not intriguing film from Canada. While the setting, clothing styles, etc. suggest a 1930s time frame, you are left with the impression that this film could also be about a dismal futuristic time. While the movie seems simple enough, one will realize that after watching it that there are many questions that are left unanswered.
At the beginning of the film we see a young boy of about 13 who is chained to a porch on the front of a shack in the middle of a bunch of wheat fields. A man comes and takes him into the cabin where he is introduced to the warden. Apparently Linus (Mark Ducusin) is now an inmate at some kind of work farm. What his crime was is never revealed. He is informed by the warden that all will go well at the farm as long as he obeys the rules. If he doesn't...well... he'll get to meet someone else who isn't as nice as the warden.
All the boys on the farm work from sunup till sundown cutting wheat and tying it into sheaths. The boys wear nothing but shorts, a leather harness, and a wooden mouthpiece that prevents them from being able to speak. During the daytime the harness is used to tie them to poles by long ropes so they can't escape, and at night they are hoisted up by pullies so that they are forced to sleep in a standing position with only their toes touching the ground.
Every night one of the guards comes and leads Jimmy (Geoff Thompson) off and then brings him back in the morning. He is taken to visit the warden, who sometimes gets lonely, the other boys inform Linus. On some nights a boy is taken away, never to be seen again.
While all the other boys have given up of ever escaping, or being set free, Linus still holds onto that one small piece of hope he has buried deep within. Is it something he should hold onto, or is what the other boys say really true: With hope comes punishment?
This film was directed by Jeff Erbach who also directed "The Nature of Nicholas".

Usually the more popular a new release, the harder it is to rent. This is the case with traditional stores as well as online.

Top 5 Time Travellers
British viewers have recently seen of the return of Doctor Who, complete with new Tardis, new assistant and a new Doctor, played by Matt Smith. Time travelling as a concept was arguably popularised by H.G. Wells' Time Machine. Certainly the common notion of having a vehicle/device to transport you through time can be linked back to this story. In celebration of this most paradoxical of plot-devices I've devised the following list:

5. Bill & Ted
Every time I think about the plot of this movie, I wonder if I got it right. Bill & Ted get taken on a trip through time so they can pass their history class, otherwise Ted will be shipped to military school, and the Wyld Stallyns will never make the music that forms the Utopian society of the future with its very simple philosophy: Be Excellent to each other. And Party on Dudes!
It's strange that I was first introduced to Genghis Khan, Napoleon and Abraham Lincoln through this movie (and possibly also the short-lived animated series) but there you go. In fact, growing up most of my knowledge of non-British history comes from films/shows like Forest Gump, Animaniacs, etc. It makes me wonder how many kids nowadays were first introduced to Shakespeare and Dickens through their appearance in Doctor Who? Or whose primary knowledge of the past is through the excellent Horrible Histories series? Anyway back to matters at hand:
4. Donnie Darko
Perhaps a less obvious time-traveller than all the others. However, his conversations with the bunny rabbit, following of worm holes, and so on have definitely earned him a place. Without spoiling anything, its surprising that his decision at the end of the movie hasn't been considered more often by time travellers. It and It's a Wonderful Life would make a brilliantly murky double bill.
3. Hiro (Heroes)
Say what you want about Heroes, in its prime you couldn't help but smile as Hiro got to grips with controlling time and space. His determination to follow a hero's arc, based on superheroes he has read about, feels like a very noughties concept. I often felt sorry for his character as he went on all these ridiculous journeys in later seasons, why couldn't his adventures be as cool as his role-models like Superman or Spiderman?
2. The Terminator
Come with me if you want to live. There's a lot of great things about the first two Terminator movies. Perhaps the most obvious is the fact that Arnie has only ever been believable in his role as an almost indestructible being. He truly was born to play a robot. Beyond that, I think the idea of a mother being told her son is destined for greatness is a very powerful one. And Sarah's arc in doing her utmost to protect and develop her son has a surprising amount of depth in it. Finally the time travel in the movie exists essentially without rules. It's never really established how the technology came about, or whether its creators know whether it's even possible to change the past. It's probably the only movie about time travel where the concept is of little importance to the characters involved.
1. Marty McFly
Marty McFly almost sums up the 80s for me, or at least teen movie stars in the 80s. He's wise-cracking, slick, and confident; he's the guy all the geeks in 80s movies wanted to be. As a child my favourite scene was always the climax of him playing "Johnny Be Good" to get his parents together. Although the brilliantly played scene when he ends up being seduced in his mother's bedroom has probably overtaken it since then.
It's influence on me is such that the rules established in this movie about setting things right for the future, and not seeing your future self are the rules for time travelling. And I always have a deep suspicion for any story where claims to the contrary are made. Example of the types of conversations that go on in my head: "He's meeting his former self - why isn't the universe imploding?! I've never seen something so ridiculous in all my life! Don't they know ANYTHING about time travelling?"

Ewan McGregor's Acting Talent Emerged From Young Age
Ewan Gordon McGregor or we know him as Ewan McGregor, was born in Perth, Scotland on March 31, 1971. In 1988, he attended in Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study drama. As a result, six months before he graduated, he rolled in the BBC series Lipstick on Your Collar. Beginning his acting career in 1993 in Bill Forsyth's Being Human and subsequently, he played in thriller Shallow Grave which led him to win an Empire Award. Later in 1996, he began to know world wide through his acting in Trainspotting directed by Danny Boyle.
After that, Ewan started to have some male Hollywood leading roles such as in Moulin Rouge! And Down with Love. Actually in 2006, he had a chance to be James Bond, but he refused it because he was afraid people knew him in a certain act. Then, finally it went to Daniel Craig. In 2005, he began to step in animated movie in voicing his voice such as Robots with Helle Berry and Robin William's voice and Valiant alongside with Jim Broadbent, John Cleese and Ricky Gervais' voice.

Finally the Eleventh Hour of Doctor Who
So finally the Eleventh Doctor has arrived, debuting well with his first full Doctor Who episode, 'The Eleventh Hour' over the Easter holiday in the UK. The hour-long first episode of Doctor Who series 5 was written by new series runner Steven Moffat, and if it's a good example of what's to come with this new sequence, then followers of the longest running science fiction program in history are in for an amazing ride. Matt Smith is instantly likable as the Doctor, who, despite his youth, carries with him a substantial amount of that all-necessary genius and gravitas that this character consistently needs.
Matt Smith is instantly all over the character, and commands each scene he's in. Amy Pond, performed by Karen Gillan, is going to take a little more getting used to, and I'm already a little tired of everybody talking about how engaging she is. With a bit of luck the focus will move to her acting and the stories as soon as she's not running round in a policewoman's outfit. This first tale in the new Doctor Who series is a fairly standard earthbound SF story, but it is in how the action is brought to a climax that the great skill of Moffat's writing lies.
The way in which by which the Doctor triumphs over the most recent menace, and rescues the earth in simply 20 minutes, is excellent. The episode is superbly put together, and whereas the effects are a bit of unwieldly now and again, it's probably the most effective 'New Doctor' episode we've had since the series got here back in 2005.
The direction and editing are great, but the music lets the episode down in a couple of parts, most particularly the new rendering of the famous Doctor Who theme tune. I do like the new title sequence however. The new TARDIS is superb, the new Doctor shows potential and Amy reveals promise. In all, it's an incredible start to what will with a bit of luck be a significant run of this rightful establishment of genre television and bring with it some great new Doctor Who merchandise focusing on the Eleventh Doctor.

Hritik Speaks About His First Singing Experience
Hritik is known as a good actor and good dancer, now he's all set to prove that he's a singer too. Hritik has sung a song for upcoming 'Kites' which is scheduled for May 21st release. The music is already out and people are raving about the beautiful music and reviews have it that Hritik has done exceedingly well.
However, Hritik was too nervous to make his singing debut though his family has a music background; his uncle Rajesh Roshan has done the music of 'Kites' and many other hit films in the past including Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Koyla etc. Incidentally, his family members never took notice of Hritik's ability to croon; may be he's not the best singer around, but he definitely has a flair for music.
It was the director Anurag Basu who noticed Hritik singing once after pack up. He insisted that Hritik should sing a song in the movie, and after much prodding Hritik finally agreed to sing that song. Being the honest and hardworking sort, he tried his level best and he adds that he's not a professional singer. However, the director Anurag Basu was so excited that he went on to suggest that Hritik should think of music as an alternative career!!
The 36-year old actor lent his voice for the song 'Kites in the Sky', watch out for this track!! Kites has created huge buzz and everyone are eager to watch this movie. Hritik plays the role of a salsa trainer in the movie, who falls in love with the Mexican girl Barbara Mori. Language is the barrier between them and they embark a journey which is filled with enough troubles which are usually associated with a love story.

What to Do on a Rainy Day?
It is raining again, the yard needs endless amounts of work, the cupboards and closets could all use cleaning, there are endless errands to run, but there is something about a rainy spring day that calls for a good book, a fireplace, a cup of something hot or a good movie.
Spring is time to work in the yard and do a little spring cleaning in the house, but when it is raining again for the third day in a row, it is hard to get motivated to do much of anything productive. The house is basically cleaned up, at least the beds are made and the dishes done, today is a good day to watch an old time movie or read a book.
I love dish network with its myriad of old movies to choose from, or order up something new. You can fast forward through the commercials and stick with the movie. What could be better than "Singing in the Rain" with Gene Kelley on a rainy, dreary, grey day. Or how about something a little more recent like "Chocolat" with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp.
It's rainy again; grab a bowl of warm soup, leave the errands and deep cleaning for tomorrow, the yard work can't be done today anyway, snuggle up and watch a good old time movie or wait for the kids to come home from school and stick in a classic Disney.

Film Review - The Time Traveller's Wife (2009)
BOTTOM LINE: For a film marketed as a romance, "The Time Traveller's Wife" works well as a sci-fi piece, which will disappoint its target market, and despite not quite handling the time travel aspect well enough, the film offers a unique take on a relationship between two people.
THE GOOD: I was pleasantly surprised by "The Time Traveller's Wife" for the simple reason that the film was not what I thought it would be, particularly after the romance angle was played up so much in the previews. The always good Eric Bana plays Henry, a man with an unusual genetic disorder that causes him to time travel against his will. Along his disjointed journey he develops a relationship with Clare (Rachel McAdams), which plays out in a rather fascinating way as together they do not have a starting point or a seemingly ending point to the relationship. When Henry meets Clare for the first time, Clare has already known him her entire life. When Clare meets Henry for the first time, he is in his forties and knows her intimately, despite the fact that she is a child. Somehow, this disjointed and non-linear relationship develops in to an intriguing sci-fi conceit which allows the characters to know each other's futures and lead a very unusual life. This becomes important when Henry and Clare see a future version of Henry shot dead in front of them, or when Henry sees his 10-year old daughter after the couple's trials in bringing a baby full term. Perhaps the best idea present in the film is the timelessness of Henry and Clare's relationship; even after Henry dies, past versions of himself travel to a point beyond his death, allowing Clare to see him again, albeit briefly. "The Time Traveller's Wife" is engaging in its ideas, and offers something different than the normal relationship film.
THE BAD: Those expecting a romance film will be disappointed, and they have a right to be considering the film was marketed as a romance. There is a romantic relationship in the film, however, it is not really the driving force behind the movie; Henry is the central point of the film, and it is through his time travelling and interactions at different points in his history that provide the catalysts for everything that happens in the film and the ideas that are presented. Not much time is spent developing the meaning of their relationship, and in fact, some of it seems very arbitrary, particularly when Henry, from his perspective, meets Clare for the first time and just jumps in to the relationship simply on her word. The relationship between Henry and his mother is not properly explored, and is arbitrarily ended in one scene where Henry meets her when she is still alive in the past, and he tells her how much her son loves her. The film seems more biased towards its sci-fi conceit, which is fine for me, but probably not for others. The time travelling aspect itself is not handled one hundred percent clearly either. The film does not stop to explain which Henry we are looking at or what time period he has come from, which makes his journey hard to follow if you were to stop and try to see it through logically. We have to accept what we are seeing at face value and go by Henry's reactions, which thanks to Eric Bana, are not hard to follow.

Film Review - Whiteout (2009)
BOTTOM LINE: "Whiteout" takes an intriguing setup for a mystery thriller and delivers a pathetic mess of a film that barely registers in any department, save showing off Kate Beckinsale.
THE GOOD: "Whiteout" begins in a good place, setting its story in the harshest environment on Earth in Antarctica, and just before the beginning of the six-month long winter and night. US Marshal Carrie Stetko (Beckinsale) has been at her post for months, but is confronted with a mysterious killer whose motivations lead to a much wider plot involving a Russian cargo plane buried underneath the ice for fifty years. The film immediately differentiates itself from the standard thriller by its setting and its lead character. Kate Beckinsale looks good literally, and we get an arbitrary sequence where we see her all but naked before she takes a shower. Setting the film in Antarctica elevates the danger level, and leads to some different types of fight sequences, particularly at the end of the film as a huge storm blankets the area in question. "Whiteout" has an intriguing premise, and is engaging enough to make you want to sit through it, if only to see where it goes.
THE BAD: The film is a mess in many ways. The script does not encourage anything other than two-dimensional characters and an underwhelming climax. There are no ebbs and flows to the proceedings, which despite a few thrilling moments where the director has gone for the standard cattle-prod technique, leaves a film that does not engage you thanks largely to a story that promises much but does not deliver. In the end, you wonder, is that it? The intensity and gruesome nature of the murderer do not seem to be dramatically justified given the reasons why they were done. Kate Beckinsale seems woefully mis-cast as a law enforcement officer, which seems strange given how strong she was in the Underworld movies. And despite accurately describing how dangerous Antarctica is at the beginning of the film, by the end of the film, this idea of danger is sacrificed in order to deliver some outside action sequences which seem ridiculous given how strong the storm at the end of the film is; not only do the characters walk around, but they seem to have the strength to beat the hell out of each other in well below freezing temperatures with hurricane-force winds. "Whiteout" is yet another example of a good idea wasted by terrible execution.

All we can know is his carpet had something to do with it. While Steve Buscemi and John Goodman add to the fun in a big way, it's Bridges' film all the way. 3. Men Who Stare at Goats. Another one of Bridges' eccentric roles, he plays a U.S. army commander who has gotten in touch with the alternative powers of the world. The odd part is he is trying to implement them into army tactics. Bridges is in top form as Bill Django, while George Clooney acquits himself well as Lyn Cassady, one of Django's acolytes. 4. Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. To get an idea of how American cinema has changed between the 1970s and the 2000s, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot is the perfect primer. Part road comedy, part crime film and generally just an interesting picture from Michael Cimino, Bridges and Clint Eastwood are teamed up as a couple of rambling rogues. Nonetheless, viewers who take the bias from the excellent film starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman will miss something special in Infamous. Bullock is right in the heart of an excellent ensemble cast as she portrays Harper Lee, author of To Kill a Mockingbird, who joined Truman Capote as he went to investigate the killings which later were the basis for In Cold Blood. 4. While You Were Sleeping. Another big shot in the arm for Bullock's career was this 1995 romantic comedy which followed on the heels of Speed. Bullock shows off the softer side of her repertoire with Bill Pullman. While the plot is somewhat less than believable, this is par for the romantic comedy course, so sit just back and enjoy.
5. Crash. For many people, Bullock's role in Crash was an eye-opener. Among her most serious roles, she delivers perhaps her best performance. "Where Eskimos Live" Starring Sergiusz Zymelka
"Where Eskimos Live" is a story about the dark side of war. Not that which involves the fighting between nations and soldiers, but rather the darker side that effects the innocent civilians, both young and old, who have no control over their newfound circumstances.
Vlado Petric (magnificently played by the 11 year old Sergiusz Zymelka) is a war orphan who, along with a vagabond group of orphans, has learned to survive on the streets of his war torn country. Life is hard, and each day they are still alive is considered another gift.
Vlado eventually meets Sharkey (Bob Hoskins), a UNICEF worker, who is actively smuggling orphans from Bosnia into Poland with promises of a better life. Sharkey reluctantly agrees to take Vlado with him after the boy's persistence wears him down.
In addition to the natural hardships endured while trekking across the countryside of a foreign country, the pair are soon plagued by the continual presence of Colonel Vuko (Krzysztof Maichrzak) who is convinced that Sharkey is responsible for the death of his daughter. Unbeknownst to both men is that the roadside bomb, which killed the Colonel's daughter, was set by the gang that Vlado was a part of in their attempt to steal food and supplies needed for their survival.
It is soon learned that Sharkey isn't really a UNICEF employee, and his real intentions for smuggling children across the boarder are less than admirable. It is a long trip though, and the more time he spends with the precocious and loveable Vlado, the softer his heart gets.
The burning question though becomes what will the end of the line present the naïve and innocent Vlado: will he find a life of love, joy, and peace, or will it be the worst nightmare of his young life?

Brilliant Thrillers Both Old and New on Satellite TV Networks
Many think of Hitchcock as the master of the thriller, but there was no shortage of classic film thrillers already in the can when the British master took to Hollywood. Nonetheless, it's hard to look at films like Psycho, North by Northwest and Vertigo without seeing their tremendous influence on modern films. Today's directors have gone in many different directions with the thriller. Satellite TV networks can take viewers down these spellbinding roads whenever they're ready. Here are 5 thrillers not to be missed.
1. Blow Out. Fans of John Travolta might not recognize the youngster in this picture, which was a remaking of Antonioni's Blow Up. Transferring the main character's job from photographer to sound man, Brian De Palma gets into his familiar disturbed, postmodern territory. Philadelphia supplies the backdrop to what becomes a thriller of the highest order. The somewhat perverse style of De Palma served him well in many other thrillers - including Body Double and Carrie - which can be seen in their entirety on satellite TV networks like IFC and Turner Classic Movies.
2. Tell No One. Fans of classic film noir are always hungry for modern versions of the original B-movie thrillers. Tell No One delivers the goods on many counts, managing to fit in the resurrection of a woman a la Vertigo along with countless other noir tropes. Seeing the average Joe doctor become unhinged is a thrill familiar to noir fans, as well as seeing the genuine, heartfelt compassion of ruthless criminal thug. Is anyone who they are pretending to be in this French zinger? Tune in to HBO for the answer.
3. The Manchurian Candidate. When John Frankenheimer made his debut with this thriller, critics were hailing the arrival of the next Orson Welles. The excellent script, which revolves around a communist plot to assassinate a presidential candidate with embedded brainwashed ex-G.I's, takes viewers on a journey few movies ever have duplicated. One of the great fight scenes of all time involves Frank Sinatra and a man he believes to be a communist spy. 4. The Usual Suspects. A modern film which has reinvigorated the movie-going public's fascination with the thriller, this Bryan Singer picture made a star out of Kevin Spacey and took audiences by storm. Like in Memento, The Usual Suspects depends on narrators who are less than reliable and recalls the philosophical approach of classics like Rashomon. See it in HD on IFC.
5. Basic Instinct. Put a disheveled trigger-happy cop (Michael Douglas) on a case with a femme fatale extraordinaire sexpot (Sharon Stone) and you're going to have some fireworks before too long.
