Spunky Girls, Quiet Boys and Korean Movies

"I saw a man from the future...."

It was this unforgettable line that makes people keep thinking why the guy in the Korean hit, even its American remake, was called "the man from the future." "My Sassy Girl" was that blockbuster hit that people could not get enough of. I mean just imagine yourself falling in love with some strange nutcase for a girl who seemed so opposite yet makes you laugh and your life never the same before, or some ideal romantic for a guy who can't see that he can be more than what he wants to be. There is a time that the person we met or passed by for just a moment is someone whom the heavens have already decided for us. He may be someone whom we least expect yet is everything you waited for (though it doesn't show instant likeness to what you want).

It's the month of February and as these words come into typing a thought is singled out from other thoughts: Love comes when you least expect it. The man from the future came to the sassy troubled girl during the time when she was heartbroken and in need of someone to make her smile: live and love again. If only a background check could be conducted then and there to make us see from the first meeting that the guy was the one.

For girls who have seen movies that show a girl being freaky or weird or outrageous and a guy who's simple, unaware and a bit lame, there are times we find ourselves looking at a modern way on how women should go on doing their lives-outgoing. Of course being conservative is still part of the job yet think about it, fun girl meets quite boy or weird girl meets the-not-so-adventurous-boy, equals making a difference, although I'm not suggesting that a girl should be someone with a criminal records due to some adventurous yet illegal acts-puh-lease!!!

What I like about Korean films is that they can bring out the contrast in these two characters-boy and girl-and bring out the chemistry even with just a conversation, holding hands and simple gestures of smiles. For every girl who've seen this type of love story let's admit that there's this certain wishful thinking you were like one-someone who can bring a smile out of a guy's face. Someone who can rock his world and someone who can make him see there's more to living. We wanted to see that man from the future one of these days. Hoping he's mister right and wanting he's the one to make you see the light. Yup that man from the future that you'll have fun knocking down and making his world crazy and make you smile.

I am a busy working woman in a Background check agency, living with a satisfying life with my family and friends. Currently I am working as a Public records researcher and a full time writer. With my experience on internet I am too addicted surfing the net, with my free time I used to spend it blogging and writing.

Denzel Washington - Hollywood's Agent of Social Change

Denzel Washington is with out a doubt one of the most popular and successful stars in Hollywood. But apart from his strikingly good looks, charisma and unique inflections, he symbolizes something much more serious in meaning and in depth; Change.

A careful analysis of some of his movies will reveal that both the characters that he plays and the general underlying themes of the stories point to some deep problems in the society and maybe, just maybe, some possible solutions. But at least they draw your attention to these problems. Let us take a peek at some of them:

CRY FREEDOM

Denzel plays the real Steven Biko, a revolutionary and charismatic South African activist, who was killed by the Apartheid regime in questionable circumstances. It is a story that still stirs up emotions among black South Africans till this very day. You get to know first hand the need for freedom and you will want to effect a positive change in society just by watching this movie. Of course you also get to know that this road is fraught with danger.

FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY

In this old movie, Denzel plays the role of a black British man who joins her majesty's army in order to escape the poverty of inner London. Despite fighting for his adopted country and in the process becoming a war hero, he returns several years later to London to find that the same problems still persist, and now he is no longer wanted: not by his community, not by his girlfriend, and certainly not by the country that he shed his blood for.

The problems that he faces in this film are the same problems faced by African-American war veterans, by black British war veterans and many other such war veterans of his type all over the world. And it is a problem they will continue to face as long as wars continue to be fought.

When Are American Idol Auditions Normally?

American Idol was the first reality television show to really become a hit and it has been going strong for nearly a decade now. The first show was shot in 2002 and it is due to enter its tenth season in 2010. It has been rated the number one show on television for five consecutive seasons. It is truly an American phenomenon that has created some American pop stars such as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Clay Aitken. If you think that you might have what it takes to become the next American Idol, you will want to know when American Idol auditions normally take place.

Because of the show's popularity, it has moved from a summer filler show to a full season regular player. This means that the season starts in the early fall and runs through the winter months. Then the summer is off and in the fall it starts all over again. However, if you think that you might have to take a few days off of school to attend American Idol auditions, think again. Even though the initial audition episodes are the first ones to air in early September, they are not recorded live. Instead, American Idol auditions are normally in the early summer, either June or July.

This is as specific of information as possible, as the dates change from city to city and season to season. The best way to know when American Idol auditions will be in your city for the upcoming season is to check on their official website. The audition locations and times are usually announced in late spring and auditions take place a few months later. While filming takes place during these auditions, you won't see if you made it on camera until the show actually airs a few months later.

Highlights of Steve Irwin's Documentaries

Steve Irwin was best known for his wildlife documentary series "The Crocodile Hunter", which he hosted with his wife, Terri. While Irwin was best known for his love of crocodiles, he was also a champion of wildlife conservation and had a love for all kinds of wild animals, especially those on the verge of extinction.

While his tragic death after a freak accident, the result of the barb of a stingray piercing his chest while shooting a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, may have taken him away from the world too early, he has left behind a legacy in wildlife conservation that will not soon be forgotten. His image will be forever immortalised by the many documentaries that he brought to the world to not only make people aware of how special crocodiles and other forms of wildlife are to our world, but also to help educate people and help them to understand more about these amazing creatures.

TV show "The Crocodile Hunter" was produced from 1997 to 2004 and became a popular series due to Steve's wacky antics and his interaction with various creatures. The documentaries have been aired on Animal Planet as well as run worldwide in syndication on various networks. It was so successful that even those who did not recognise the name Steve Irwin would know exactly who you were talking about just by mentioning that "Crocodile Hunter" guy. The success of "The Crocodile Hunter" was so overwhelming that the series spawned two spin-offs, "The Crocodile Hunter Diaries" and "Croc Files".

"The Crocodile Hunter Diaries" aired from 2002-2006 and was more focused on the everyday life of Steve and wife Terri and the employees of the Australia Zoo, which was founded by Irwin's parents before Steve and Terri became co-owners and operators. Filming began in 1998 and covered the birth of their first child, Bindi Sue, the support of various breeding efforts of some animals in the zoo by shuffling them around to make mating more conducive, and an employee being almost fatally attacked by a venomous snake, among many other experiences the couple and their employees had at the zoo. Production of the series ended with Steve's untimely death.

"The Croc Files" aired from the middle of 1999 to the beginning of 2001. This documentary series was specifically focused on crocodiles and can still be seen on the Discovery Kids network.

In 2002, the Irwin's starred in their first feature movie based on the "Crocodile Hunter" documentary series entitled The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course. It is a comedy-adventure film in which Steve and Terri play themselves while filming an episode of "The Crocodile Hunter" and trying to protect a crocodile. While the movie did receive mixed reviews, it grossed over $33 million worldwide.

Steve also appeared as himself on an episode of the Discovery Kids program "Mystery Hunters" in 2002, and had a cameo role in the 2001 movie "Dr. Dolittle 2". In 2006 Irwin was the voice of Trev in the movie "Happy Feet".

Three Doctor Whos You Must See Before You Die

I'm a life long fan of the TV programme Doctor Who. That's right, a semi-obscure British TV show, which, thanks to a relaunch in 2005 is now popular again the world over. Of course, to me Doctor Who never went away.

In case you've never seen it, the series follows the adventures (and misadventures) of a time traveller known only as The Doctor. The TV programme is called Doctor Who and so a lot of people think that the main character is also known as Doctor Who, but that's not really the case. I just used that in the title so you'd know what TV programme I was talking about.

So, dating back to nearly 50 years of history, a whole host of different characters have played the title character, The Doctor on screen (and others too on film and in other media). Don't just get acquinted with the new series. Who are the three Doctors who I think you have to see before you die?

(1) The Tenth Doctor, played by David Tennant.

David Tennant's incarnation was really responsible for bringing the show back to the massive international acclaim which it's had. Funny and exciting in the same breath, Tennant's Doctor also brought an element of romance and sex appeal to the show for the first time, sharing a kiss with more than one of his companions. Backed with modern special effects, to many Tennant's Doctor is the definitive version.

(2) The First Doctor, played by William Hartnell.

Dating all the way back to 1963, when Doctor Who first hit the TV screens on a Saturday evening in black and white, Hartnell's Doctor introduced much of the mystery and mystique that the programme would depend on. A more elderly model, Hartnell's Doctor relied more on his intelligence than his brawn. With regular excursions back in time, this period of the TV show also provided a useful indication. Really making the role his own, you really can't be a Doctor Who fan without wanting to see how it all started.

(3) The Seventh Doctor, played by Sylvestor McCoy.

A slightly controversial choice, perhaps? Were you expecting me to say Tom Baker, who probably found the most fame outside the UK? No, my choice is Sylvestor McCoy, as the episodes he appeared in are still modern enough to stand alone and a number of the stories have a grittier element to them. Further, to me Sylvestor McCoy's Doctor is the one who really developed outside of the TV series. With a regular supporting stack of books, comic strips and, more recently, audio plays, the idea of a highly manipulating Doctor, performing as Time's Champion, really gave a somewhat aging series a new lease of life.

So, there you have it. My three recommendations of Doctors who you should check out. Of course, that doesn't mean that the rest are rubbish. Far from it! Go ahead and watch any episodes you can get your hands on. Pick and choose. There's no shortage of great Doctor Who episodes out there, past and general, and they're all worth watching.

Davros Woodton is a huge science fiction buff. One of his all time favourite programmes is Doctor Who. He runs a site reviewing and recommending Doctor Who Merchandise. If you're looking for great story from the early years to watch, why not check out The Mind Robber, starring Patrick Troughton.
