The "I Am Number Four" Movie Lit Up The Theater

Dreamworks released an action/sci-fi movie called "I Am Number Four" into theaters recently. I recently watched it, and without a doubt, this was the most awesome movie I've watched in a very long time. It offered a ton of action, special effects, and drama. It honestly left me wanting more, and from the looks of it, this just might be a continuing franchise. It stars: Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer, Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand, and Callan McAuliffe.

The flick centered around a man named John (Alex Pettyfer) who's a teen from a different planet that escaped, along with his protector Henri (Olyphant). There are others like him on the globe; however, they're getting destroyed by evil warriors from his planet. Every one of John's kind are tagged with a number. John is, in fact, number 4, and the evil ones are eliminating his kind off in chronological order. Every time one got killed, John's leg would glow, and leave a scar for that victim.

The previous victim was number three, so he new he was next, and so did Henri. to get away from this terrible fate, they hit the highway again and put on another identification disguise to cover him from the wicked aliens. The sad thing is, they are close on his path now since his number is the next one in line. In the mean time, in John's most recent town in Ohio, he shapes fairly sturdy bonds with some people, primarily with a lady named Sarah (Dianna Agron).

When it's time for him to exit Ohio, he doesn't wish to and refuses to go when Henri makes an effort to pressure him. Right after that, the best difficulties came about, and we were able to see how powerful John really is. He began expanding his powers in the new town, when this flick came to an end, he was kicking some major booty, as well as a new person who appeared on the scene to rescue him at some point, claiming she was number six (Teresa Palmer).

After she got here, it really got interesting because the flick featured number six vanishing and reappearing, cutting up evil men left and right, John participating in in on the action by cutting people up with his power, an enormous monster protector dog battling another gigantic monster, and more in order to preserve Earth from getting taken over by these evil guys.

Finally, when all the fantastic dust settled, I was completely amazed and screaming, sequel! They surely did leave it open for a sequel, and also gave information as to what might come in a future flick if it were to transpire.

Again, I think the film was very entertaining. Alex Pettyfer did an awesome job as the intense young alien, new guy. Glee's Dianna Agron was very, very cute. She also did an excellent job acting too, lol! I gave this film an A score.

The Role of Parents and Agents in a Kids Modeling Career

The kids modeling career is just as challenging and rewarding as any modeling career. The kids need their parents' and agent's support in order to make it in the industry. A child is not someone mature enough to work alone and if you let them be alone in the industry, the probability of him/her being exploited is very high. As a parent, even if you decide to hire a manager for your kids, you still have to be involved in the kids modeling career.

As a parent, some of the ways that you can support your kids modeling career is by offering them financial and emotional support. You will need to support them financially by paying for a professional photo shoot. If you don't have the money to hire a photographer, you can take the snapshots of your kid. These photos will be submitted to the modeling agencies. You will incur extra costs of mailing the applications to the agencies or visiting them in person. However, the cost of getting your kids a modeling career is not so much, genuine agencies will not charge you anything if they decide to represent your kid. Agents make their money by charging you a commission per every job that your kid books through the agency.

When it comes to emotional support, parents/guardians have to be very involved in the kids modeling career. You need to discuss with your spouse before you let your kid get into the modeling career. Ensure that your schedule is flexible enough to allow you to be there with your kid when they are working. Kids need a lot of care, to ensure that your child is in a safe working environment, you have to be there. You can't take your child to an agency and then just leave them there. Also, just like in any career, your kid will have good and bad days. You have to be there to support and encourage them. Never be impatient with them when they fail to deliver good photos; for instance, instead of getting frustrated or yelling at them, just be supportive.

Kids modeling careers should be fun and something enjoyable for the kids. Ensure that your kid is interested in modeling before trying to get them in the industry. Some parents attempt to live out their dreams through their kids. Even if you yearn for stardom through your kid or for financial support from your kid's career, don't force them to do something that they aren't interested in.

Modeling agents have an equally big role to play in the kids modeling career. It's up to the agent to get the kid some audition, also in case of casting calls, the agent organizes for the kids to attend. The agents are there help the kid to book jobs. A good agent is one who will work with the parents to help the kid get far in the modeling industry. There are some agents, who just want to exploit the kid for their own personal gain, parents should be very cautious when getting agents. They have to ensure that they only work with genuine agents who will support their children in their kids modeling career.

How to Spot Fake Modeling Agencies

A lot of aspiring models fall victims to scams run by fake modeling agencies. Therefore, models need to be very careful when selecting an agency. One of the ways that models can protect themselves from falling victim to such scams is by being aware about the kind of scams to watch out for.

Modeling agencies normally make money by earning a commission for every job that they help the models get. If you find a modeling agency that expects you to make payments even when you haven't started working, then this is probably a fake agency. If an agency starts charging you extra fees such as consultation fee, photo session fees, representation fees or any other drummed up fees, then this is not the right agency for you.

Genuine modeling agencies normally have office building and operate from Mondays to Fridays. Never will a legitimate model agent ask you to meet him/her at his home. You should also never meet the agents in hotels or any other places apart from the agency. Many young naïve models have been seriously hurt y going for such meetings. Working hours are normally between 9am and 5pm on weekday;, be very cautious if an agent asks you to meet him after hours or even during the weekends.

Ensure that you join a modeling agency that is registered. Legitimate agencies have licenses displayed on their walls. Be very wary of modeling agencies that none of you, your family or friends have ever heard of. Also avoid agencies that don't have any working models. You can check for the agencies listings and see, who they represent, if there's no one that you know of, avoid the agency.

There are modeling agencies that not only run money scams but they also run scams for sexual gratification. An agency will ask models to go for a professional photo shoot at the agency only to ask them to pose nude or semi nude. A legitimate agency will never ask you to do this; a fake agency may do this just to exploit you sexually. They may then sell or distribute these photos further exposing you. Even if you want to be a lingerie or swimsuit model, the agency will never take nude photos of you; they will look at your portfolio or invite you for a casting call.

When you submit your application to the modeling agencies, they will schedule for a meeting with you before they start getting you jobs. If an agent tells you that they have gotten you a job before meeting you then that is definitely a scam. Also, be very wary of agents who make false promises such as,"I can make you a star." or "You will be famous in no time."These are lies; no agency can honestly promise you that. Modeling is hard work and it takes time to get to the top. Anyone promising you overnight success is a liar. Most models start by earning less than $200 for their first jobs then they work their way up in the industry, built their reputation over a period of time and that's when they start earning a lot of money.

All About a Reality Television Casting Call

The reality television has become an impressive show to many people. Almost all the fans of the show wish they could have a chance to take part in the event. Nonetheless, it is practically impossible to determine what the directors are looking for. If you have been looking for a casting call but you have never got it, the following tips could get you there.

The first step is to trace the latest reality television casting call. There are numerous television sites looking for reality shows to broadcast in their stations. Some of the casting call tasks are done by independent casting agencies hence information regarding the shows is available in their sites as well as other sources as the TV station in which eligible candidates will be broadcast. There are some reality shows prepared online while others require the participant to attend the casting process in person at a certain time in the course of shooting the event. If the reality show you are enrolling to take part in requires applicants to show up at the studio in person, you should then be ready to travel to the headquarters of the TV stations which are mostly located in large cities.

A reality television casting call is versatile since the casting crew can be looking for characters meeting certain qualifications. Examples of qualifications they can be on the look out for include residential place, gender, athletic abilities, relationship status, age, talent and sexual orientation among other demographic characteristics. Some casting crews are in search of families instead of individuals.

A casting call can also be based by certain characteristic traits. Organizers of the event will give details of the characters they are looking for. It is upon prospective candidates to investigate the qualifications and determine whether they are eligible. Clients can be looking for people with openness, social skills and openness to a certain level. The physique is often a common characteristic used in the shows. The competing candidates are asked to perform something for the judges such as singing or even dancing.

When seeking reality television casting call role, you are required to present a letter explaining reasons why you think of yourself as a suitable candidate for the event. In addition, include your photograph and CV. Other things you can expect include drug screenings, medical tests, intelligence and psychological tests.

There are some casting calls that are more tedious than others. If for instance you are taking part in `Extreme Makeover Home Edition', you can expect to go through a lot of tasks than when participating in other kinds of shows.

There are a number of advantages associated with participating in the reality television casting call. One of the advantages achieved is gaining popularity. If you have been looking for some means to get into the show business; and you are want a way to get to the limelight, the program can put you to the limelight as it is broadcast live on the TV. Even if you got rejected at early stages, you will still have a chance of appearing on the live broadcast. Some of the participants are offered chances to talk to students and give them advice. Other participants have written movies and books based on their experience on the show and used them to make money.

Movie Trailers - A Preview to Pique the Interest

Trailers are the best tools to pique the interest of the audience and interest them into watching the movie. In India, Bollywood trailers have a special place of their own in the movie industry. Well before the movie hits the cinema halls, trailers start making their appearance in between prime time TV shows, at theatres where other movies are playing, and nowadays, on the internet too. In fact, almost all big production houses have a dedicated website to big movie projects where trailers, songs, clips and trivia about the movie are uploaded.

The primary objective of a trailer is to make the audience curious. A well thought out selection of scenes, songs and situations needs to be presented in the trailer to interest the viewer. Since songs and music are a very important part of any Indian movie, all Bollywood trailers also have a healthy helping of these. In fact, in many cases, Bollywood movies set off frenzy among fans well before the movie is even released because a song or scene has caught the imagination of millions across the country.

Bollywood trailers are also used by producers to offer audiences a quick first look at the highlights of the movie. A trailer tells the viewer about the various elements he will find when he watches the full movie such as action, comedy or pathos. Some trailers give the viewer the gist of the basic storyline so that he is drawn to watching the movie to see how the situation unfolds.

The audience also gets a look at the cinematography and style of the movie by looking at trailers. Exotic foreign locales, classy photography and masterful shots can all be amply displayed through the snapshots that trailers allow the producer to reveal. The look and feel of the movie can be conveyed very effectively using these film 'nuggets'.

Movies that have a specific message at the end may have a trailer expounding the same message too. This sets the stage for the producer/ director to communicate more easily and more effectively with the audience since they view the entire movie with the message in the back of their minds. For films that center around social issues, this technique works very well indeed.
Whether it is a serious social subject or a typical Hindi block buster action movie, Bollywood trailers are an indispensible part of the Indian movie industry.

Producers and directors who know their audiences also know that skimping on the trailer could dampen enthusiasm for an upcoming movie and subdue box office collections significantly. This is why trailers are being made with greater care and even more diligence today than ever before.

Top Ten Game of Thrones Moments You Won't Want to Miss on HBO

On April 17th, HBO will launch a new fantasy series, Game of Thrones. It is based on George R.R. Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire. Here are the top 10 moments a viewer unfamiliar with the books really shouldn't miss.

I'll try to get into the skin of somebody who has never seen the show before. The order could be interchangeable, but I tried to get the top 10 moments. If you are unfamiliar with the books, these 10 things will be sure to keep you glued to your chair week after week when the show starts:

This does contain some spoilers, so read at your own risk.

10. Bran's fall

This should be the first big WTF moment for the casual observer and potentially the thing to get somebody hooked on the show. It happens at the end of the first episode and will leave you gaping in disbelief.

9. Death of Lady

By this point the bond with the direwolves is pretty strong, so this should be quite shocking. It will leave the more emotional on the verge of tears.

8. The prologue

That first glimpse of the White Walkers should be enough to get a few fantasy lovers hooked. This is one of the few really fantasy based elements in the show, so it should not cause the people who dislike fantasy to turn away from the show either.

7. Jon coming to the Wall

The first look upon the Wall should not only be spectacular, it's bound to make me gasp as well. The wall guards the rest of the world from the lands on the far north. It is 700 feet high, spans through a continent and is made completely of ice, manned by the Night's watch.

6. Dany get's "reborn"

After losing everything and stepping in the fire, she gains everything instead. Three dragons, thought to be extinct are hatched from eggs that were turned to stone.

5. Cersei, Dany and various other women

Showing of certain parts of the woman's body... let's face it, it should appeal to the average adult male. The show is not shy when it comes to sex, not to mention violence, rough language or worse. There is nothing cliché about this show.

4. Ned's demise

We all know what that means. Another huge WTF moment. This is not a story where the good guys are safe. Any character can be killed off at any time for any reason or none at all.

3. Arya's water dancing

Arya should be a fan favorite and when she starts her lessons, the audience should rejoice. The adorable Maisie Williams doesn't want to be a high-born lady, so she rather learns to fence.

2. All the little schemes of King's Landing

The plot is more than engaging. Even though this is marked as fantasy, there is no good vs. evil. Everybody is gray at best.

1. King in the north

A huge crowd starting up a chant for a boy who won a battle... This could be similar to Braveheart if they pull it off.

12 Leadership Lessons From "The King's Speech"

The inspiring 2010 Oscar Best Film "The Kings Speech" was based on the true story of the Duke of Windsor struggling to overcome a speech impediment in order to fulfill responsibilities as a great leader. While preparing to assume the throne as King George VI he was faced with the challenge of making positive changes to his limited self-image, his internalized negative belief system, and an overall perception of his own potential greatness.

In the Oscar-winning movie his speech therapist tells him that he can become a great king despite personal obstacles. But first the Duke must visualize himself in his own mind as a king with no stammer and essentially flawless speech. Eventually the Duke of Windsor does transform himself into the great King George VI by working extraordinarily hard to overcome obstacles and achieve his ultimate goal.

While watching the wonderful film I realized that there is really very little difference between preparing to be King and preparing to be the leader of a large and powerful corporation. The process that the duke followed to attain greatness was focused upon overcoming deep-rooted fears and limitations to personal growth, and those are the same issues and topics that I address when coaching and mentoring high potential leaders through my unique 10-step Predictable Promotion system.

Let's examine some of the impediments and problems the Duke of Windsor had to resolve in order to realize his destiny as King of England, as they relate to the process of preparing to be a truly outstanding corporate leader. To be fully qualified to assume the throne he had to:

  1. Become committed to doing whatever was required to prepare himself for his royal role.
  2. Change his internal self-image and own the idea of actually being a successful King.
  3. Trust in a mentor to help him advance to this position of power and then continue his growth and development even after accepting the exalted position of King.
  4. Practice relentlessly between sessions with his coach as he followed an intentional action plan and blueprint for overcoming obstacles and self-sabotaging internalized beliefs.
  5. Develop confidence in himself and faith in the unseen - regardless of his daily reality.
  6. Visualize a flawless leadership performance within the theatre of his mind.
  7. Push past the ego in order to seek assistance to realize and leverage his full potential.
  8. Overcome early childhood identity issues and resolve prior life failures and humiliations.
  9. Take the initial bold step by delivering his first wartime speech to the world despite his speech challenges and his apprehension about being thrust into the spotlight.
  10. Act with courage, perseverance, and passion because he knew his people needed to hear an inspiring and persuasive message from him during a tumultuous time of crisis.
  11. Follow through by exuding confidence and regal presence after giving his first speech.
  12. Know that by stretching beyond his comfort zone that his fears would subside and he would become empowered to leave behind an historic legacy of exemplary leadership.

These 12 challenges are really quite similar to what real leaders of today must face if they intend to play a much bigger and more responsible leadership game. This Oscar-worthy film is not only exceptionally interesting and entertaining, in other words, must it also offers many valuable lessons to those who aspire to excel in corporate leadership positions. Just as royalty have to prepare to lead a country, organizational leaders need to prepare to overcome any self-limiting beliefs that might stand in the way of their role as inspiring leaders with powerfully charismatic executive presence.

Have you ever had the opportunity of a big career position or promotion but were afraid that you were not fully prepared to seize the day? Do you ever question whether you have the skills and qualifications to fill the shoes of the person who previously occupied that position? If a vacancy at the next level suddenly opened up would you be ready at a moment's notice to take the helm, or are there areas you want to strengthen in order to ensure your confidence and poise as a multi-dimensional leader?

Madhubala - The Immortal Beauty of Indian Cinema

In an era that was characterized by stalwarts of Indian film industry such as Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Meena Kumari, Nargis and many others, Madhubala left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with her petite beauty and vivacious charm. Born to Muslim parents who originally lived in Afghanistan, Madhubala retained a strong loyalty to her father until her death in 1969. This loyalty cost her heavily at different times during her acting career but she never had any regrets. Although her life was cut short far too soon, Madhubala created a sensation in the movie industry with her versatile performances.

Madhubala was born in 1933 in Delhi and christened Mumtaz Jahan Begum Dehlavi. But rarely do people know her but any other than her screen name. Her first screen entry was at the age of nine and success followed quickly at 16 years of age with her stunning performance in the evergreen movie "Mahal". Although she was paired against Ashok Kumar who was a well established 'star' at this point, Madhubala not only held her own but also won critical acclaim for her sensitive performance in a role that was considered difficult to assay. Some of the scenes and songs from this epic 'thriller' movie are still played in many households across India.

Madhubala 's health was fragile in the later years of her career owing to a ventricular defect in the heart. But she never allowed her poor health to dampen her enthusiasm for work or craving for popular and critical acclaim. In fact, the actress never disclosed her serious heart ailment to the world until ill health on the sets of a movie forced her to bring it to the open. Even her closest co-workers were quite unaware that the peppy, zestful Madhubala did not enjoy perfect health.

Although the media and many critics hinted that Madhubala's beauty outshone her talent, her co-stars emphatically disagreed. Dilip Kumar, with whom Madhubala was linked romantically, stated that her full talent was never uncovered. He believed that she was truly the greatest actress in the history of Indian cinema. The pressure to earn for her large family led this great performer to make many ill advised decisions when it came to choosing films. However, her presence earned the 'blockbuster' tag for many classics that are still watched today, the most well known being Mughal-E-Azam.

Madhubala never got to perform in a Hollywood venture although film maker Frank Capra tried his best to discuss such an opportunity with her. But she did achieve international acclaim with a Theatre Arts magazine article that called her "The Biggest Star in the World."
