The Details Behind the Movie

For those who have had the pleasure of watching Avatar the last airbender knows what it has to offer. This animated show created by Nickelodeon has captured the hearts of many including children and adults. The show which was written and produced by Brian Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino are excited about the release date of the Avatar the last airbender movie in theaters on July 2, 2010. As avatar the last airbender he holds responsibilities greater than he ever imagined and the future of the four nations is depending on him. They are the two individuals who release him from an iceberg that had kept him captured for over a 100 years.

The show which takes place in an Asian setting is based around a youthful 12 year old boy named Aang who is destined to be the hero who saves the four warring nations from the overpowering Fire Lord who has brought nothing but terror against the people in each nation.

Aang who was raised by a variety of monks lived a carefree life of playing, frequent traveling, and just enjoying life until he reached the age where he was allowed to choose 4 toys from thousands which he ended up selecting the ones that stood for the elements of the world which he must master including fire, wind, earth, and water. He befriends a Katara and her brother Sokka who lost their mother at a very young age and have been on their own ever since. Just like the airbenders who chose in the decades before him he chose (air) a string powered propeller, (earth) a wooden hog monkey, (water) a clay turtle flute, and (fire) a wooden hand drum. Once he did this the monks knew he was the child who was reincarnated as the one who would defeat the fire lord and restore peace on the planet.

In order to control and master his powers he must find the Fire Lord and defeat him before summer arrives due to the current rulers powers being stronger than ever. Along the way Aang, the avatar the last airbender makes a few friends who are willing to help him to grow as an airbender and get to where he needs to be in life. He befriends a Katara and her brother Sokka who lost their mother at a very young age and have been on their own ever since. They are the two individuals who release him from an iceberg that had kept him captured for over a 100 years.

He has to travel in order to build his skills and accomplish his destiny but takes longer than expected because of his young age Aang would rather have fun than focusing on the real task at hand. He will have many tough choices ahead including his own flaws which he must overcome. As avatar the last airbender he holds responsibilities greater than he ever imagined and the future of the four nations is depending on him.
